Clearwater Escapes is a two-seat mini boat rental in Clearwater, Florida. We deliver 30 hp self-drive mini boats to launch points around Clearwater and Tampa Bay for couples, groups and corporate outings, with senior and military discounts.
What we do
We rent two-seat mini boats that you drive yourself. Each one has side-by-side seating for two, twin hulls and a 30 hp engine. Couples get a boat for two; groups pair up and ride together as a mini boat convoy. We host corporate and team-building outings, birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties and family reunions.
We come to you
Instead of asking you to come find us, we deliver the boats to the launch point. You might spot our wrapped truck around town on the way. If you do, snap it and tag #ClearwaterEscapes.

Safety and compliance
Fun is the point, and safety is how we get there. Here's what applies to every Clearwater Escapes rental:
- Pre-rental instruction, every time. Before every rental we walk you through the controls and the safety basics.
- Life vests provided. We supply the life vests.
- Drivers are 18+. Florida statute §327.54 does not allow a livery to rent a motorized vessel to anyone under 18, so every driver must be 18 or older with a photo ID.
- Boater education. Florida requires anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 who operates a boat of 10 hp or more to carry a Florida Boating Safety Education ID Card (or proof of a NASBLA-approved course from another state). Our boats are 30 hp, so this applies. FWC's Temporary Certificate Program is an option for drivers without a card.
- Two per boat. Our mini boats seat a maximum of two people.
