The rules that apply to every Clearwater Escapes mini boat rental.
Rental rules
- Drivers must be 18 or older and bring a photo ID. Florida statute §327.54 does not allow a livery to rent a motorized vessel to anyone under 18.
- Boater education: drivers born on or after January 1, 1988 must carry a Florida Boating Safety Education ID Card, proof of a NASBLA-approved course from another state, or an FWC temporary certificate. Our boats have 30 hp engines, so this applies. See the boater card guide.
- Maximum two people per boat. Groups ride as a mini boat convoy, with a driver who meets these rules in every boat.
- Life vests are provided, and every rental starts with a safety briefing and a walkthrough of the controls.
